watching diebuster ep 1. it's like flcl with less zaniness. gurren lagaan with less BURNING SPIRIT. but hot damn it looks like it could be getting better real soon.
also going to try gunbuster, but it's vintage 1988, just like me. i tried ep 1 as well... it's intriguing. the first scene involves giant robots doing pushups. and situps. and jumprope. a normal PE lesson. hm.
downloading persona3fes. dating sim + rpg by atlas... a theoretical success. we'll see.

also, i forgot to mention, but i did some pvp today in wow, out of total exasperation.
i blame hajime no ippo.
to my utter, bewildered surprise, i did not suck big stinking donkey balls. i only sucked a bit.
im mean, look!!!!

i'm only fourth last! isn't that outrageous! and what's up with alliance 4-capping and winning a battleground...
things sure have changed.

i went blog surfing today. i am seriously running out of things to do.
i'm depressed. sometimes i wonder why i keep a blog anymore. following links from one outdated blog to another... with entries from over a year ago... just makes me realise how little i knew all these people, and how they've already moved on in life.

i just deleted a big chunk of emo text from that last paragraph. forget it.
here's a scary video. that guy in the blue sweater? it's alvis. chioang. it's scary. the person i most despised for the entire sec 1 schoolyear is now in an acapella group. wtf, that's too cool for him. the most horrendous part is when he makes some stupid comment - that i can't exactly hear but i know it's cringeworthy! - and someone actually says 'haha he's so funny'.

it seems like every damn thing that kotonoha scanslates is awesome. ressentiment is a frightening glimpse of what my life may become if i become any more antisocial.

on a normal day like today, i'd just come back from camp and would probably be wowing furiously. but after a whole week... i think i've hit the burnout point. great.

my mri results weren't given to me. apparently they'll be forwarded to my doctor instead.
my next followup is on 8th may. 8TH MAY.
I CAN WALK PERFECTLY FINE NOW. MY KNEE DOESN'T HURT AT ALL (except when i do one legged squats)
THREE MORE WEEKS OF ATTC TO GO.

my MRI is tomorrow. i intend to book in on sunday night and cancel the rest of my MC if nothing's wrong with me. i can walk normally now. one week of civilian life has been amazing.

watched the other boleyn girl. no idea what it was about, didn't even know it was set in the past. the firt few seconds into the movie and i saw that dude with his sleeves as wide as he was tall, i freaked out. no, really. but still, the costumes were spectacular. really slick work. go wiki anne boleyn and see how well they followed the details, right down to that little "B" necklace with the three beads hanging off. and the cinematography was great too. i remember the scene where natalie portman just came back from her exile and the shot had her silhouette stalking down the beach with her cloak and dress flaring out in the wind and the whole beach was tinted black and blue... cool.
but the story... not so good. didn't top two hours but it felt way longer. bloody soap opera stuff. scarlett johansson was plain as fuck and her weak, angsty little act got tiring after awhile. eric bananana was a royal prick. natalie portman was hot but her bitchiness got really tiring too. their mother and the queen, however... whoo. thumbs up.

anyway. apart from the movie there was a fuckload of talking and reminiscing. over supper at DEMPSEY'S FUCKING HUT we plowed our happy way through our secondary school life. good times, good times. i'm sitting here now staring at the numberlock they issued us in sec 1 for our lockers. i remember how we tried to steal each others combis. if you still remember mine, good for you, because i'm using it as my back account PIN now.

i think it's time i blogged about how i got a FUCKING 31DAY MC.
on monday i moved out for my battalion proficiency test. some time that day, i slammed my knee against the edge of my vehicle cupola as i was getting in. oh well, no big deal, it wasn't the first time i'd done that. yes it hurt. it hurt a little when i bent my knee. life sucks, there hasn't been a single exercise out of the dozen in the past few months where i didn't injure myself in some way.
by the second day it got worse. by the third and final day i couldn't bend my knee any more. after the BPT finished, i got ferried back to camp by rover and reported sick, where they sent me to NUH "to exclude #". that's doctorscrawl for 'fracture'. oh, teja was there when i went to the medical centre and had to crack the obvious 'now you know how it's like to be waileong' joke.
anyway, no fracture. i tore my left patellar tendon (google image it and you'll where i hit myself quite easily) and i got warded for further observation. in the end they concluded that it was only a partial ruptre, stuck a leg brace on me, made my buy a set of crutches(!), handed me a 31 day mc, a future mri followup, and sent me on my sweet way home.

so:
1) my third time reporting sick in my army career and i've hit the jackpot. i like to think of it as stored reporting-sick-karma. i'm using all my alloted injury compensation at once.
2) i completed the 3day bpt so no one can say i'm fucking chao geng. unlike some fuckers who attc'd for flu on sunday night. conversely, i'm sort of worried that they'll make noise about how i should have reported the injury earlier.
3) i own a set of crutches. ftw.

seriously, i win the game.

now, before i head back today to endorse my mc, i'm going to declare something crazy.
i don't intend to take the full 31 days. i'll ask the medical board to shorten it, maybe to at least two weeks. firstly, because by today my knee's already getting better, and secondly i know i'm going to be swamped with work when i get back after a whole fucking month. bite my face and call me stupid, but i've got a garang parang shoved up my ass. no really, we're turning ops next week and i'm going to miss important courses like add-on armour for my apc. fuck! i think i'll book in anyway and limp around and watch.

i also haven't blogged about how my battalion just came up with a spectacular way to exploit all the 3sg's from my batch. seriously, they dropped the bomb on us right before bpt. basically, remember how i blogged about how my life would be easier after march? that i'd finish all my field camps and go do NDP? not so. now they're going to post us to another company with fresh recruits and we'll DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN FFUCKING FUCK. garang has its limits too. this is exploitation, simple and pure. CO tried to rationalise this bullshit to us but i really don't feel like typing it all out here. "it's a tough decision guys, but sometimes we have to live with tough decisions. i know i will." excuse me sir, it's not you who's doing every single outfield training from section field camp all over again.
